Safety Guide

If your family or community doesn't know you've left religion, read this before participating anywhere — here, Instagram, Reddit, anywhere.

Digital hygiene

Separate identity

One pseudonym, one fresh email, used only for this. Never reuse a username that exists anywhere else — usernames are searchable across platforms.

Your phone is the risk

Family picking up your unlocked phone outs more people than hackers do. Use app locks, disable message previews on the lock screen, and log out of this site on shared devices.

No photos, no voice notes

Never post your face, your street, your handwriting, or raw voice recordings. Reflections in photos and background sounds have identified people before.

Writing style counts

If you're known for a phrase or typo pattern, it can identify you. Keep your anonymous voice separate from your public one.

Meeting people from the internet

Offline meetups happen only through Circle (L3) coordination — never accept a private meetup invitation from someone you met in open chat, no matter how long you've talked. First meetings: public place, daytime, tell the Circle coordinator where and when, and arrive by your own transport.

Your rights in India

There is no law against leaving a religion in India. Article 25 of the Constitution protects freedom of conscience — which courts have read to include the freedom not to believe. You cannot be prosecuted for apostasy or atheism.

But speech has limits: BNS §299 (formerly IPC 295A) criminalises "deliberate and malicious" insults to religion. This is why our public content is analytical and sourced, never abusive — and why you should keep venting inside the community, not on public platforms under an account traceable to you.

If you are an adult, no one — including parents — can legally confine you, confiscate your documents, or force you to marry. If you are in immediate danger, that is a police matter; if you need support first, contact the Circle.

What this platform does for you

We store no real names, phone numbers, or photos — we can't leak what we never had. Inner rooms are end-to-end encrypted and auto-delete after 30 days. Room membership is layered, so even a successful infiltrator sees only the outermost circle. And every person in a sensitive room was interviewed and vouched for by people with something to lose if they vouched carelessly.
